Yukitaka Hatsuda
Hatsuda has acquired extensive experience in education, having worked in junior high schools, elementary and high schools, universities, and school administration. He is currently the director of the "Kyoiku Seiryu Juku" school, which aims to boost teacher motivation. In addition, he built his own wood-fired kiln in the Uji mountains and dedicated himself to making high-fired pottery, which he sees as a way to express the world of wabi-sabi. There is a common thread between education and making pottery fired in a pit kiln. Indeed, even when following the theory to the letter, it is difficult to achieve the desired result, and reproducibility is low. "What's interesting is achieving a result even when things don't go as planned," he explains.
